COLOURWAYS

Now that we have a general idea of how the book will look we need to decide on an appropriate colour scheme. There is a two colour restriction on this brief, one of our colours is going to be black we just have to pick the 2nd colour.

From comparing the bright orange and paster colours we decided the pastel would be more aesthetically pleasing and less garish to the eye. We then decided that the pink and grey have nothing to do with our project, where as the orange obviously does because of the fox, and the green because of the fact we started by looking at woodland creatures as they are timid and hidden, it is also the colour of camouflage which links to hidden and green is the colour of recycling which is in a way what we are doing re cycling old books.

Different versions of green.

These are our two colours that we had to pick from. We liked the orange and felt it had a strong connection to the fox, but felt it may be a little too garish and not very attractive when there are 20 orange books laid out. The green we feel has more of a connection to what we are trying to do, the fact its the colour for recycling, camouflage and woodlands makes this colour the strongest conceptually and also it is  a mush more pleasing colour to the eye and will work well in vast quantities.
