STUDIO BRIEF 3 : concept development - studio workshop

brief :

We have been giving a 1 week brief to create a poster to promote a new BAGD rotating exhibition. The exhibition will work as a competition to the level 4 and 5 to enter and 7 winners will be picked out of the submit ions, and be exhibited in the 7 BAGD frames.

In the workshop today we were given four words which are associated with the exhibition :

- exhibition
- space
- change rotate
- bimonthly

we were then told to use word assosisation to generate a body of words that represent the exhibition. By doing this it is a good way to better understand the brief but it is also a good way to come up with a concept.

Bellow are the words that the whole class came up with, two words for each category from each group. It is really interesting to see the variation and different arrays of possible concepts that come from word generation. This has shown that this is a good technique to use at the beginning of a brief as there are potentialy 40 concepts above. It is also a very quick way.

From the list that the group I was in came up with the words that caught my eye are :

- competition
- pageant
- fresh
- change

Next step is now to draw up the concepts for the next day crits.
