RESPONSIVE : YCN Churchill - design development

Mask :

For the mask and dress up kit to work I need to have clear instructions for the audience to follow. So selecting the colour for the cut line is important.

The black and yellow cut lines do not work. The black is too similar to the black outline of the drawing so may get confusing or may not even be acknowledged as a cut line. The yellow is too bright, it is not a strong enough contrast against the skin colour so it doesn't stand out very well, and may be missed or not followed right.

The white outline falls into the same category of not working as it is too light and not bold enough for the audience to notice.

The blue is a possible contender, it sands out well against the skin and will make an obvious line for the audience to cut around.

The red colour that I used as the title for the pack envelope also works well for the cut lines. It has a strong contrast and is a distinct enough colour for it not to be confused for anything else. It also stands out a lot from a distance, more so than the blue colour, which is good as it means the cut line will match the title colour, maintaining a good flow.

Finished Mask :

The mask has come out successfully. The cut lines show up very well and the use of Courier for the body copy and Edmonsans as the title are working well together. I have made sure the layout is simple so that the audience can read the instructions without any distractions or issues.

Finished Bow tie :

The bow tie needed more instructions than the mask as it is a little more confusing to construct then just cut out. I have maintained the simple layout with lots of space to make sure the instructions are easy to find and follow as before on the mask. I think I have successfully achieved constructing the instructions clearly for the bow tie.
